Three Hizb militants killed in Kashmir encounter

Srinagar, Mar 3 (IBNS) Three militants were killed in an encounter with security forces that ended here in Tral of south Kashmir on Thursday, the police said.

According to reports, the police and the army launched search operation in " Dadsara" village of Tral town after receiving inputs about some militants on Wednesday.

"When security forces tightened the cordon around the house, militants lobbed grenades and started heavy firing with automatic weapons on search party ensuing gun battle," said senior Police officer.

He further said firefight continued till morning which left three local Hizb militants dead.

Three AK-47 rifles have also been recovered from the site of the encounter.

Soon after the encounter ended locals of the adjoining areas raised slogans and pelted stones targeting the forces .
