Sushil Modi’s car attacked in Bihar, Lalu says ‘stage-managed’ to divert attention from scam

Patna, Aug 15 (TheBiharPost/IBNS): Anti-social elements attacked the car of Bihar deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Tuesday but he escaped unhurt, police said.

The incident took place near Chaksikandar village in Vaishali district on Tuesday evening while he was going to attend funeral rites of a BJP leader’s mother.

According to Sushil Modi, as his car reached near the place a mob of some 300-400 persons shouting slogans in favour of Lalu Prasad began thumping his car which partially damaged the vehicle.

Somehow, he was taken to a safe place in police security. He alleged the mob was also hurling abuses at him and accused the hands of the RJD people in the incident.

RJD chief Lalu Prasad, however, rejected the allegation saying the attack was “stage-managed” to create sympathy for himself in the light Rs 900 crore Bhagalpur fund transfer scam in which Modi, he alleged, is directly involved.

“Such drama will not save him. He will have to go to jail ultimately,” Prasad said adding the RJD people had nothing to do with the incident.

Prasad also described the incident as a glaring example of “police failure”and added the entire Bihar was angry after the Nitish Kumar broke alliance with the Grand Alliance and formed government with the BJP.
