SP chief Akhilesh Yadav celebrates his 47th birthday

Lucknow/UNI: Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav celebrated his 47th birthday on Wednesday.

There is no such function on the occasion due to Covid pandemic but several hoardings have been erected by the party leaders in the state capital to wish their leader.

Former MP, Dimple Yadav, who is the wife of Akhilesh, was among the first to tweet to wish her husband on his birthday.

Dimple has appealed to the party activists to help the needy and poor on the occasion.

SP spokesperson Rajendra Choudhary said here that party workers would distribute food, fruits and medicines to the needy.

"There will be no major congregation or celebration at the parry office but we will celebrate in our own way," he said.

Some party district units have decided to hold a 'havan' and pray for the well-being and long life of their leader.

Since the past one month, Akhilesh has been rather active by holding video calls with party leaders in the districts.

He was also revamping the party organization and gearing up for the 2022 Assembly elections.
