SP, BSP create ruckush in RS over renaming of Mughalsarai station

According to reports, taking up the issue, Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party members shouted slogans and disrupted proceedings prompting the deputy chairman to adjourn the proceedings briefly.

Tantrums flew thick after Kurien disallowed suspension of business to take up discussion on the issue, as SP member  Naresh Agarwal (SP) had sought in his notice.

In protest, members of SP and BSP created an uproar, alleging that the Government is trying to change the "character of the country" by renaming the station after an individual, which is unprecedented in the country.

They also alleged that names of persons "who have made no contribution to the freedom struggle" are being given.

Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi  said  the opposition parties have no objection to Mughal names but cannot see the name of a great thinker.
