Guwahati, Apr 7 (IBNS) Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Thursday attacked the Prime Minister and his BJP government over issues of violence and taxation.

As she was campaigning in Assam's Barpeta district  ahead of the second phase of the assembly polls there, Gandhi took a potshot at  at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said  the PM only speaks about non violence while touring foreign countries, but seldom responds to hate speeches from his party members.

"When abroad, Modi Ji talks of peace & development, but when he returns home he's silent on hate comments by his colleagues," Gandhi said.

She also accused the PM of being non cooperative towards small businesses, attaking him for the increase of taxes.

Gandhi said, "What have BJP done for small businesses? They have only increased the burden of tax on them."

Gandhi also took a subtle jab at all her political opponents by saying that the Congress is the only party to work with every group across the nation.

"Congress is the only party that takes along all communities without any discrimination," she said.
