Soldier wounded after militants attack Army camp in Kashmir

Srinagar, Aug 12 (IBNS): A soldier was injured after suspected militants attacked an Army camp in Kalaroos forests in the border district of Kupwara in north Kashmir, late on Friday night.

According to sources, militants attacked  with automatic weapons the 41 RR headquarter camp, located in the Kalaroos forests along the Line of Control (LoC).

An officer told IBNS, "Militants continued to  fire on the camp for half an hour. The  alerted troops retaliated effectively."

A soldier of 21 JAK Rifles was injured in the shootout, the official added.

He was moved to a military hospital in Drugmulla for treatment.

Soon after the attack, army launched a massive man hunt with the help of para-commandos, said a source.
