RJD protests outside Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi opposes floor test motion

Patna, July 28 (IBNS): As the the JD(U)-BJP alliance gears up to prove its majority in the Bihar Assembly, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) staged a protest outside the House with their leader Tejashwi Yadav opposing the floor test motion inside on Friday morning.

Echoing the words he spoke in last few days, Tejashwi in the Assembly, targeting the JD(U)-BJP alliance, cried political conspiracy against the RJD over the whole political drama which went on since Wednesday evening.

Referring to the BJP, the former Deputy CM of Bihar said: "Nitish ditched you earlier."

The former second man in Nitish's cabinet tried to refer to the breakdown of JD(U)-BJP alliance back in 2013.

The political crisis in Bihar occurred after JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar stepped down as the CM of the state on Wednesday. Kumar, who severed his ties with RJD over corruption issue, formed the new government with the support of the BJP on Thursday.

Along with Nitish, BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister of the state.

However, the JD(U)-BJP alliance is expected to prove its majority since the two parties collectively bags the required number of seats to form the government.

While JD(U) has 71 seats, BJP is in possession of 53.

The minimum number of seats required to form the government is 122.

Trust vote is likely to begin shortly.
