Relief organization in Jammu & Kashmir provides EPICs to Kashmiri migrant voters

The Relief Organization (Migrant) in Jammu and Kashmir has initiated the distribution of Electors Photo Identification Cards (EPICs) to Kashmiri migrant voters who submitted their voter forms during the Special Summary Revision held in September 2022.

Today, EPICs were handed out to Kashmiri migrant voters at the Jagti Migrant Camp, where a significant number of voters availed themselves of this service and received their EPICs, according to a press statement, reported The Economic Times.

This remarkable collaboration between the Relief Organization and the office of the Chief Electoral, J&K marks the first-of-its-kind effort to facilitate the distribution of EPICs to Kashmiri migrant voters at their convenience.

To achieve this objective, a Special Campaign has been launched from June 19 to July 1, covering both migrant camps and non-camp areas in Jammu.

Previously, the EPICs were printed and then entrusted to local Block Level Officers in the Kashmir Valley for further distribution.

Due to their residency in various locations in Jammu and other parts of the country, Kashmiri migrants had faced challenges in collecting their EPICs. This initiative aims to address that issue and ensure their access to this essential document.
