President of India greets king of Bhutan on his birthday

New Delhi, Feb 20 (IBNS): President of India Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday conveyed his greetings and felicitations to Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck on his birthday which falls on Feb 21.

In his message, the President said, “On behalf of the Government, the people of India and on my own behalf, it gives me immense pleasure to extend my heartiest good wishes and warm greetings on the occasion of Your Majesty’s birthday."

"The special relationship between India and Bhutan is a unique example of good neighbourly relations. Your Majesty’s personal commitment to consolidating our historic and close bilateral relations is very much appreciated by the Indian people. It was an honour and privilege for me to receive Your Majesty in India in 2014 and meet Your Majesty during my visit to Bhutan the same year," the President said.

"I take this opportunity to extend my best wishes for the health and happiness of Your Majesty and esteemed members of the Royal Family of Bhutan," he said.
