President of India congratulates Nguyen Phu Trong for being re-elected as General Secretary of Communist Party of Vietnam

New Delhi, Feb 5 (IBNS) President Pranab Mukherjee on Friday congratulated Nguyen PhuTrong for his re-election as the General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
In his message, the President also added, “Your vision and experience will surely consolidate Vietnam’s position in the world even further. Our two countries, both dynamic economies, have a tradition of warm and cordial relations and cooperation for the benefit of our peoples. I look forward to continuing to work with you to further consolidate our time-tested friendship and our strategic partnership."
 
Nguyen Phu Trong was first elected as the General Secretary in January 2011.
 
Trong, 71 years, is believed to be the most powerful man in Vietnam, according to media reports.
