President Kovind, Prime Minister Modi greet nation on Raksha Bandhan

New Delhi, Aug 7 (IBNS): President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday greeted the nation on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

"Warm greetings and good wishes to all fellow citizens on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan #PresidentKovind," the new President said.

Speaking about the sacred bond between brothers and sisters, President Kovind said, "The unique festival of Raksha Bandhan celebrates the sacred bond of commitment between sisters and brothers #PresidentKovind."

"May Raksha Bandhan, symbolising the virtues of love, affection & mutual trust, bring happiness & prosperity to all #PresidentKovind," an ensuing tweet read.

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "Greetings on Raksha Bandhan."

Raksha Bandhan or Rakhi is a predominantly Hindu festival celebrated by the community in India and Nepal.
