Police arrest top militant in J&K

Srinagar, Dec 19 (IBNS) The police has arrested a top militant from their hideout in a dense forest area in Jammu and Kashmir, said a senior officer on Saturday.

According to a senior police officer, acting on intelligence input, 21 Rashtriya Rifles and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police conducted a search operation at Khurmorah Rajwara forests of northern area in Handwara frontier district of Kupwara.

During the operation the HM militant, who was identified as Falak Noor, and was reportedly active for the past two years, was arrested.

Meanwhile, search operation at Reshmuqam Gujjar Patti woods in the Kupwara continued for the second day.

However, no contact was so far established with the militants, hiding in the dense forest.
