PDP workers' meeting in Srinagar today
Srinagar, Jan 31 (IBNS) The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will hold a workers meeting in Srinagar on Sunday as the issue of government formation in Jammu and Kashmir continues to keep suspense.
Party President Mehbooba Mufti will chair a the meeting, reports said.
The agenda of the meeting is to discuss ways to strengthen party at grassroots level and there will be no talks over government formation, reports quoted party sources as saying..
Mehbooba Mufti earlier indicated that she is not in a hurry to form the government with the BJP in the state.
On Friday, the PDP toughened its stand and flagged issues like relations with Pakistan, revocation of the controversial Armed Forces (Special Powers) Acts (AFSPA) and return of power projects to Jammu and Kashmir from the Centre which are part of the 'Agenda of Alliance'.
With the BJP maintaining silence on the issue, the hardening of stance by the PDP indicates that the state could be heading for a longer period of Governor's Rule which was imposed on January 8.
