Pakistan ISI link exposed: 5 arrested in Chandigarh BJP office blast
Punjab Police has arrested five individuals in connection with the blast outside the Bharatiya Janata Party office in Chandigarh, Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said on Saturday.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the module was backed by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), with foreign-based handlers identified in Portugal and Germany.
The case was cracked during a joint operation by the Counter-Intelligence wing of the Punjab Police and the Chandigarh Police.
“In a major breakthrough, the Counter Intelligence wing of Punjab Police, in a joint operation with Chandigarh Police, has solved the Chandigarh grenade attack case,” Yadav said in a post on X.

Police have recovered one grenade along with additional explosive material, and operations are ongoing to apprehend the remaining accused.
Highlighting the alleged foreign links, Yadav said the network used multiple cutouts and sub-modules to execute the attack.
“This operation has effectively foiled a major terror conspiracy aimed at disrupting peace and harmony in the region. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the main accused,” he added.
The blast took place on April 1 at around 5 pm outside the BJP office in Sector 37. No casualties were reported.
