New Delhi/IBNS: The international scheduled commercial passenger flights will continue to remain suspended till November 30 amid the coronavirus pandemic, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation said today.

"However, the international scheduled flights may be allowed on selected routes by the competent authority on a case-to-case basis," the Indian aviation regulator said in a circular.

International flights were suspended in Indian on March 23 as countries across the world imposed lockdown to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

While domestic flights were resumed on May 25 last after a gap of two months, the government flew Indians stranded in different parts of the world through special Vande Bharat Mission flights, gradually entering into air bubble pacts with around 18 countries, including the US, the UK, the UAE, Kenya, Bhutan and France.

Air bubble agreements between two countries are signed to operate international flights between their territories.

The DGCA circular stated that the suspension does not affect international all-cargo operations and flights specifically approved by it.
