Newly floated militant group open fire in Upper Assam
PM Modi will visit to Assam on Feb 5.
Modi will inaugurate the Gas Cracker project in Dibruagrh, take participate in the 85th convention of Srimanta Sankardeva Sangha in Sibsagar, a party meeting at Moran in Dibrugarh district and finally attending in the inaugural function of the 12th South Asian Games in Guwahati.
According to the reports, the newly floated militant group Moran Tiger Force had opened fire in two places in the upper Assam district Tinsukia on Wednesday night, a day before of PM visit to the state.
The militants had also threatened to the tea tribes people of upper Assam to leave the state immediately.
The militant group has called a bandh protest against PM visit to the state.
On other hand, around 3000 athletes and officials of eight participant countries including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Maldives, Afghanistan, Nepal and Bhutan had arrived in Guwahati.
Security has been beefed up ahead of PM visit and South Asian Games in the state.
