Guwahati, June 25 (IBNS): All speculations have been still clouded over selection of the next Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) even as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) scripted victory of the council polls by sweeping majority by 24 seats out of 26.

The newly elected members of the BJP on Sunday met Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal at Brahmaputra Guest House in Guwahati and discussed about forming the next council.

A top source of the saffron party said three names, among the elected members, have been placed  before the Assam CM.

“Final decision is likely to be taken by the Assam CM,” the top source said.

BJP’s Assam unit president Ranjit Dass, MLA Mansing Rongpi and other top BJP leaders were present in the crucial meeting.

On the other hand, Assam finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said his party will choose who will take charge the top command of the next council.
