Narendra Modi, other Indian leader wish Droupadi Murmu on her birthday

Indian PM Narendra Modi and other Indian leaders on Tuesday joined to wish President Droupadi Murmu on her birthday.

She turned 65.

Modi said Murmu's dedication inspires countrymen.

"Birthday greetings to Rashtrapati Ji. A beacon of wisdom, dignity and commitment to the welfare of our people, she is admired for her efforts to further the nation’s progress. Her dedication continues to inspire us all. Wishing her good health and a long life.
@rashtrapatibhvn," he tweeted.


Indian Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar tweeted: "Birthday greetings to the Hon'ble President Smt. Droupadi Murmu ji. May she be blessed with good health and fortitude as she continues to guide our nation with grace and wisdom."

Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP chief JP Nadda also wished the Indian leader on her birthday by posting wishes on Twitter.

Nadda met Murmu and tweeted: "Met with Hon. President Droupadi Murmu Ji and conveyed my best wishes on her birthday."
"Her commitment and dedication to the nation's progress are admired by everyone and are a source of inspiration for us all. Wishing her a long life and good health," he said.

Murmu is serving as the 15th and current President of India since 2022.

She is the first person belonging to the tribal community and also the second woman after Pratibha Patil to hold the office.

She is also the youngest person to occupy the post and the first President born in Independent India.
