However, a red alert has been issued by the weather depart as the city is expected to receive more rainfall on Wednesday.

The announcement has forced the famous 'dabbawalas' of Mumbai to take a break from work today.

At least 10 teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been deployed for rescue and relief operations.

The Indian Navy too was seen helping the victims with refreshments.

Other states like Gujarat and Goa have also been alerted of receiving heavy rainfall.
