Modi to campaign in Gandhi bastion Amethi

Amethi, May 5 (IBNS): BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Monday will campaign for party candidate Smriti Irani in Amethi where she is pitted against Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi.

Amethi, a bastion of the Gandhi family, this time witnessed a lot of attention with BJP fielding Smirit Irani and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) fielding Kumar Vishwas.

Rahul Gandhi also held a roadshow in Amethi a day ago while sister Priyanka Gandhi is also aggressively campaigning for her brother.

Congress leaders said the campaigning by Modi will have no effect on their fortunes in Amethi.

Congress senior leader and External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid said: "Modi's campaign in Amethi would have absolutely no impact."
