Measures to protect India's monuments
New Delhi, Mar 2 (IBNS) A committee from the Ministry of Culture has recommended to the Union government to form a Special Force and provide them with tools and electronic gadgets for protection of Monuments and Art Installations as part of a comprehensive security policy, informed the Minister of State for Culture and Tourism (Independent Charge) and Minister of State for Civil Aviation Dr. Mahesh Sharma in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday .
He also said that at present there is no proposal to outsource the operational maintenance with monuments of World Heritage tag under Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
However, ASI has undertaken conservation and development of Humayun’s Tomb, Delhi in collaboration with Aga Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC), said the minister.
