Kolkata, Apr 3 (IBNS): Acting on a tip off, the Special Task Force (STF) of Kolkata Police on Saturday arrested two top Maoist leaders from Brigade Parade Ground area under Maidan Police Station limits in Kolkata and seized several arms along with ammunition from their hideouts, officials said.
"After getting specific information from our trusted sources, we booked Maoist's state committee leader Vikas and his wife Tara, who have a very good connection with the organization," Joint Commissioner of Kolkata Police (STF) Vishal Garg told IBNS.

"After interrogating the duo, we came to know about their hideouts and conducted a raid there. One 7.62 mm pistol with two magazines and nine rounds of live ammunition, one AK-47 with 120 unspent ammo and Maoist literature written in Adivasi language have been seized from their secret shelter," he  said.

They have been charged under several IPC and Arms Act sections, and are likely to be produced in the Bankshall Court in Kolkata on Sunday.
