Mamata Banerjee unveils three ITC projects in West Bengal

Kolkata, Feb 10 (IBNS) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday unveiled three facilities of the ITC in the state.

Y C Deveshwar, Chairman, ITC Ltd was present in the event.

Banerjee said: "Today, I was present in the unveiling ceremony of three important ITC projects in Bengal – Integrated Consumer Goods Manufacturing Facilities at Panchla and Uluberia and Information Technology Park, ITC Green Centre at Rajarhat."

She said: "The projects will cause significant socio-economic development and create thousands of new job opportunities for our youth. I thank ITC for their trust and confidence on Bengal and assure them of all co-operation and support."

These projects entail an investment of nearly Rs 3,000 crores, which include two integrated consumer goods manufacturing facilities in Howrah and a futuristic IT and knowledge facility in Rajarhat.

Chairman Deveshwar had earlier announced the company’s intention to invest around Rs4,500 crores in West Bengal, which includes its second iconic super premium luxury hotel, ITC Royal Bengal.

ITC is also setting up a futuristic Infotech Park that will service global clients from West Bengal and further develop the state's IT potential.
