Major fire at Parel commercial building; second such mishap in Mumbai within hours

Mumbai/UNI: A major fire broke out at a commercial building in Parel neighbourhood here on Thursday, hours after a blaze erupted at the Jolly Maker Chamber located in posh Nariman Point locality.

The mishap occurred at the Raghuvanshi Mills Compound at the Senapati Bapat Marg area of south central Mumbai. No injuries were reported in the incident which occurred at 0928 hrs, said reports.

The fire had spread to Level IV by noon, Fire Brigade sources said, adding that 14 fire engines along with six water tankers were engaged in firefighting operations.

Flanked by top civic officials, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar has visited the spot.
