Maharashtra: Cinema halls, swimming pools to reopen from tomorrow

Mumbai/UNI: Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray-led Maharashtra government on Wednesday allowed reopening of cinema halls, drama theatres, multiplexes, swimming pools being used for training of sportspersons and yoga institutes from November 5.

According to the order, the cinema halls, theatres and multiplexes will be allowed to function at 50 per cent capacity outside containment zones.

No eatables will be allowed inside the theatres, cinema halls and multiplexes, the government notification said.

"Swimming pools being used for training of State, National and International-level sportspersons, outside containment zones, will be allowed to operate with effect from Nov 5. The SOP (standard operating procedure) for the same will be issued by the Sports and Youth Affairs Dept," read an order.

"Yoga institutes, outside containment zones, will be allowed to function from Nov 5. The SOP for the same will be issued by the Public Health Dept," the notification added.

"All indoor sports like badminton, tennis, squash, indoor shooting ranges, etc., will be allowed with physical distancing and sanitation measures," it further read.
