Mumbai/UNI: The Maharashtra government on Thursday imposed a ban on Coronil, a drug recently launched by Yoga guru Ramdev's Patanjali claiming full recovery from the Covid-19.

Home Minister Anil Deshmukh stated that the National Institute of Medical Sciences will examine clinical trials of the medicine.

He also asked Patanjali mascot Baba Ramdev to ban the sale of Coronil.

Prior to the state government's promulgation, the Ministry of AYUSH had also questioned the drug's authenticity and asked the Baba-led company to stop advertising the medicine till its examination.
