Two persons allegedly gang-raped a 16-year-old girl in Nalasopara area of Maharashtra at a time when the country is still witnessing protests over the rape and murder of a doctor at a state-run hospital in Kolkata.

One of the accused has been arrested.

According to police, accused Anees Shaikh and K Jain, while committing the offence, made a video and blackmailed the victim by threatening to release it if she approached the police, reported UNI new agency.

The Achole Police Station has filed a case against both of them where they were accused of violating several provisions of the BNS as well as the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) Act.
