Lahore: Narendra Modi reaches Nawaz Sharif's residence
Sharif welcomed Modi at the Lahore airport with a hug.
Earlier in the day, Modi spoke to Sharif and wished him on his birthday.
"Spoke to PM Nawaz Sharif and wished him on his birthday," the PM said.
"Looking forward to meeting PM Nawaz Sharif in Lahore today afternoon, where I will drop by on my way back to Delhi," Modi tweeted.
He reached Pakistan on his way back to India after visiting Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, Pakistan People's Party Chairman
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari welcomed Modi to Pakistan and tweeted: "Welcome to Pakistan @narendramodi . Constant engagement is the only way to resolve all outstanding issues."
