Kochi: 18 nuns of Erumathala provincial house test positive for COVID-19

Kochi/UNI: A total of 18 nuns of Erumathala provincial house in Aluva have tested positive for COVID-19 as they were in the contact list of Sister Claire, who had died of Coronavirus in Vypin on Monday.

The list of persons who were in contact with these nuns have been prepared by the health department, sources said on Tuesday.

Apart from these nuns, Kochi North Excise Circle Inspector also tested positive for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Ernakulam market was opened on Tuesday with strict restrictions, after 20 days. The shops will function at different times.

The situation in Kochi is worsening day-by-day as the number of COVID cases through contact increased.

Out of the 72 Coronavirus positive cases reported on Monday, 62 had infected the virus through contact. Besides, 24 of them were health workers.
