Karnataka Election Results: Congress eyes to form govt with slim majority

Bengaluru/IBNS: In an upset for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Congress is eyeing to return to power in Karnataka but with a thin majority, as per the poll results.

As per the latest trends, the Congress is leading in 117 seats, four more than the figure which is required to form the government.

The BJP, which had failed to get the single majority even in the last elections, is leading in 71 seats.

The Janata Dal Secular, which is leading in 30 seats, could become the kingmaker if the Congress or any party fails to cobble up the required numbers.
