Kamal Nath tweets video of 'Dalit woman thrashed publicly by BJP leaders' in MP, alleges police inaction

New Delhi/IBNS: Congress leader Kamal Nath on Friday took a dig at the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government by tweeting a video where a woman and her daughter could be seen thrashed by a group of men in Madhya Pradesh.

In the video tweeted by Kamal Nath, a woman could be seen being pushed and punched by the group of men.

Her daughter, who seems to be capturing the video, shouts at them, "Leave my mother alone. Stop it."

Posting the video Kamal Nath wrote in Hindi: "In Betul district's Shobhapur, a Dalit woman and her daughter were thrashed in public by BJP leaders for protesting against them."

The former chief minister alleged police inaction in the incident that they were under pressure even days after a complaint was filed.

"A police complaint supported by the video was lodged by the woman five days ago, but no action has been taken against the accused due to abuse of power," Kamal Nath wrote in another tweet.

Slamming the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government, he said immediate action should be taken against the perpetrators.

"Shivraj ji, such incidents are happening to our sisters under your government and the accused are being protected. Immediate action should be taken against them and the woman and her daughters must get justice," he said.
