JP Nadda, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to campaign for third phase of Assam polls today

Guwahati/IBNS: After completion of the first and second phases of Assam assembly polls, the political parties are now focusing on the third and final phase of polls for 40 constituencies to be held on April 6.

BJP national president JP Nadda, Union Agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Congress national general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, state’s Finance minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday will address several election campaign rallies in the constituencies of Lower Assam and Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) area where the third and final phase of poll is going to be held.

JP Nadda will address three rallies at Patacharkuchi, Boko and Chandmari in Guwahati on Friday.

On the other hand, Congress national general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is scheduled to address three election campaign rallies at Mayabazar under Goalpara East constituency, Agomani in Golakganj constituency and Kayakuchi in Sarukhetri constituency.

Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar will address one rally in Sarukhatri constituency.

On the other hand, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will address six rallies and state’s senior minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma will address five rallies and take part in one road show on Friday.

77.93% voter turnout was recorded in the second phase of the poll which was held in 39 assembly constituencies on Thursday.
