J&K: Militants fire on security forces

Srinagar, Apr 5 (IBNS) The Indian Army cordoned off the forest area near Jindyal village of frontier district Kupwara after militants fired on a patrol party of the local army unit on Tuesday.

According to reports, the Army and the Special Operation Group of Kashmir Police cordoned off the forest area after receiving inputs about the presence of some militants who are hiding near Jindyal village in Kuwpara area.

“Early morning today the Army and the Police were on patrol duty when they have sudden contact with suspected militants,” said Senior Superintend of Police Shabir Ahmad.

He said search operation is on in the area and no causality has been reported so far.
