Jamtara: Girl commits suicide in Jamtara after lover shares pictures on social media

Jamtara/UNI:  A girl committed suicide in this district after her lover shared their pictures on a social media platform and later refused to marry the girl.

The incident took place at Barmasia Mode located in Kundhit block. Family members said that Rahul Mandal, a resident of Mahesmunda village of Nala district, had uploaded the pictures of the girl on a social media platform. Upon seeing the pictures, the family members questioned the girl who confessed that she was in a relationship with the boy and wanted to marry her.

On Sunday, the younger brother of the deceased took a marriage proposal to the boy's home but the lover denied having any plans to marry her. After the news reached, the girl locked herself in a room and committed suicide.

On Monday, the body was sent for postmortem to Sadar Hospital while a named FIR was also registered against the boy at the police station.
