Jammu and Kashmir: Two drug peddlers arrested, charas recovered in Srinagar

Srinagar/UNI: Two drug peddlers were arrested and 4kg of charas was recovered from their possession on the outskirts of Srinagar city, a police spokesman said on Saturday afternoon.

Acting on the directions of SSP Srinagar, a naka checking was established on Foreshore-Shalimar link road on the banks of Dal Lake. During the naka, police intercepted a car, he said, adding that later, during the search, police recovered four kgs of the contraband.

The arrested were identified as Mohammad Ayoub Wani and Mohammad Altaf Parra, both residents of Sumbal Bandipora in north Kashmir.

In this connection, case FIR No. 58/20 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Harwan and investigation has been set into motion.
