Jammu And Kashmir: Another youth rescued before joining militancy in Pulwama

Srinagar/UNI: Another youth was rescued before he could join militancy in the south Kashmir district of Pulwama, a police Spokesperson said on Saturday.

He further said input were received that a youth from Awantipora in Pulwama was being motivated by some militants to join their ranks.

However, with the help of his parents, police and security forces jointly persuaded the youth, he said adding the youth was later rescued before he could join the militancy.

He stated that the endeavour of Police has saved life and property.

Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh has time and again appealed to local militants to shun the path of militancy and return to mainstream and lead a peaceful life with their family members.

He said on September 17 that over 20 youths have shunned the path of violence and joined the mainstream this year.

He added that two militants were allowed to surrender during encounter in south Kashmir recently.
