India continues to witness spike, 357229 new COVID-19 cases recorded

New Delhi: India continued to witness a spike in COVID-19 cases as 357,229 new cases were registered in the past 24 hours, as per Ministry of health released data on Tuesday.

The country's total COVID-19 tally crossed the  20-million mark with the fresh registered cases.

During the same period, 3,449 new fatalities were also recorded.

The total death toll due to the virus now stands at 222,408.

India is currently combating a deadlier second wave of the COVID-19 at present.

The country has registered over 3 lakh daily COVID-19 cases for the past several days.

Oxygen shortages, deaths and hospitals struggling to provide beds to patients have become a common picture across the nation.

In the past 24 hours,  3,20,289 people have recovered from COVID-19.
