ICC World T20: Pakistan's security-assessment team to visit India next week

Islamabad, Mar 5 (IBNS): Pakistan's Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Saturday said a security team will leave for India on Monday to assess the security arrangements for the national side during the ICC World T20.

India is hosting the ICC World T20 this year.

"ICC's security team is in India, but time is short as our cricket team is due to leave on Wednesday. We can delay our team's departure till we are sure that they will be safe in India," Nisar was quoted as saying by Dawn News.

"I have asked the PCB chairman to wait, and the team can wait until the security clearance is assured," he said.

"Until security clearance has been given, our team will not leave for the world cup," he said.

The tournament will be held from Mar 8 to Apr 3.
