Heavy rains lash Gujarat, submerges several parts

Ahmedabad, July 2 (IBNS): Heavy rains lashed several parts of Gujarat with many places across the state being submerged or water logged.

According to reports, there is forecast of heavy rains for the next two days as well which can worsen the situation further.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) was called in which carried out rescue operations in several villages in Gujarat.

These areas were submerged or heavily water logged after torrential rains continued over the last 24 hours.

Reports said parts of Gir Somnath, Morbi-Tankara and Wankaner- in Saurashtra and Banaskantha in north Gujarat have been severely affected in the rain.
