Four sanitation workers die in Delhi while cleaning septic tank

New Delhi, Jul 15 (IBNS) :Four sanitation workers died by inhaling toxic gases while cleaning a septic tank in south Delhi's Ghitorni area on Saturday, media reports said.

According to reports, five men had gone down to clean the septic tank in a household. When they did  not come out for long they were pulled out in an unconscious state by fire brigade personnel.

After they were taken to hospital four of them were declared dead.

it is believed that they died because of asphyxiation after inhaling the noxious gases inside the pit.

The victims have been identified as  Swarn Singh (45), Dipu (28), Anil (23) and Balwinder (32).

Jaspal, Swarn Singh's son, is under treatment.
