Patna/UNI: Former MP and Jan Adhikar Party (JAP) President Pappu Yadav was on Tuesday detained for violating the rules of lockdown.

Yadav through a tweet on social media said that he had been arrested and was being taken to Gandhi Maidan police station.

He stated that if striving to save the life of people during covid-19 was a sin, then he was a criminal.

Yadav further wrote addressing the Prime Minister and Chief Minister that he would continue to fight for the people and expose the corrupt persons without succumbing even if he was put behind the bars .

Meanwhile, Senior Police superintendent Upendra Kumar Sharma said that despite repeated reminders Pappu Yadav was roaming without any pass. He was asked not to step out without any concrete reason, informed the SSP who said that Mr Yadav had reached covid ward of

Patna Medical College Hospital violated the guidelines and the police received a phone call regarding disturbances in treatment of patients due to his presence. Later the police detained him and further Legal procedure was under process.

Hindustani Awam Morcha chief and former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, a coalition partner of the NDA government in Bihar expressed resentment over the detention of Yadav.

Manjhi also tweeted that it was unfortunate for humanity that a public representative was serving the people day and night in the hour of crisis and was being arrested for his services.

He further said that before taking any action such issues should be propped judiciously otherwise such action would trigger public resentment.
