Badrinath/IBNS: Amid the uproar over allegations of donation theft at the Ram Mandir, similar claims of financial irregularities have surfaced at Badrinath Dham in Uttarakhand, according to media reports.

The Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) on Friday ordered an inquiry into the allegations of corruption after claims of financial misappropriation gained traction on social media.

BKTC orders inquiry

BKTC president Hemant Dwivedi said the temple committee has directed the formation of an inquiry committee to investigate the allegations, taking the matter seriously in view of the claims circulating online.

He said appropriate action would be taken based on the findings of the investigation.

Bhairav Sena alleges financial irregularities

An organisation named Bhairav Sena on Friday alleged financial irregularities at Badrinath Dham and demanded an investigation into the alleged embezzlement involving the personal assistant of the temple committee chairman.

Committee chief refutes claims

Dwivedi, however, rejected claims made on social media identifying a specific employee as his "personal secretary."

He clarified that the individual in question is a regular government employee of the BKTC and has served as a personal assistant to three former chairmen of the temple committee.

Dwivedi reiterated that strict action would be taken against anyone found guilty once the inquiry is completed.
