Former DoPT Secretary Sanjay Kothari appointed Secretary to the President

New Delhi, Jul 22 (IBNS): Former Union Secretary Sanjay Kothari has been appointed as Secretary to the newly elected President Ram Nath Kovind, The Hindu reported.

Gujarat’s Resident Commissioner in New Delhi Bharat Lal, a forest service officer, has been appointed as Joint Secretary to the President.

Senior journalist and a fellow at Observer Research Foundation (ORF) Asok Malik will be Press Secretary to the President.

Their appointment orders were issued by the government late Friday night.

. Kothari, a 1978 batch IAS of Haryana cadre, is at present the Chairman of Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB). He was appointed to the post after his superannuation as Department of Personnel and Training.
