Floods : Fury continues in Bihar, toll rises to 153 ; Assam, Bengal look up
The situation in Assam, ravaged by consecutive waves of floods, and the northern part of West Bengal, however, reported marginal improvement with no further reports of heavy rains coming in.
In Assam, a total of 60 people have already died in flood-related incidents while the toll in five north Bengal districts stands at seven.

In Bihar, altogether 17 districts have been hit by the floods with Araria, West and East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Katihar, Darbhanga and Purnea bearing the brunt of the fury.
Army and personnel of National Disaster Management Force have been carrying on relief and rescue operations for the vast number of marooned people.
According to reports, further rains may pound Gaya, Bhagalpur and Purnea on Saturday.
In Assam, the authorities said there were some improvement in the overall situation following a respite from the rain. With 60 deaths being reported in the third wave of flood, the total number of deaths in deluge in the state this year stood at 144.
About three million people have been affected in 15 districts and nearly 90,000 of them have been lodged in different relief camps. .
