Fire breaks out in Kolkata school, brought under control

Kolkata, Jan 21 (IBNS): The fire, which broke out in C. M. O. Girls' High School in Kolkata's Bow Bazar area on Thursday, has been brought under control, reports said.

According to reports, the fire was seen on the fifth floor of the school on Thursday noon and the school building was evacuated soon.

As many as 3 fire tender engines, Disaster Management Group (DMG) and police rushed to the spot. Fire fighters fought for nearly half an hour to bring the blaze under control.

However, the fire department has started investigation into the incident and no casualty has been reported so far.

"The fire might have started due to a short circuit. We have started investigation into the matter to know the exact reason of the fire," one senior officer of fire department told IBNS.
