Farooq, Omar slam BJP over Article 370

New Delhi/Srinagar, Apr 7 (IBNS) Union Minister Farooq Abdullah and his son Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for promising abolition of Article 370 in its manifesto.

"Neither National Conference, nor Congress, nor any other national parties will allow Article 370 be abrogated," said Farooq Abdullah.

"The BJP is playing on Article 370 to get votes. In reality, they will not do anything about it," said Omar Abdullah.

In its manifesto released on Monday, the BJP reiterated its stand on the Article 370 and promised it will discuss this with all stakeholders.

The party said it remains committed to the abrogation of this article.

Article 370 of the Constitution grants special autonomous status to Jammu and Kashmir.
