Didn't get a penny from Swachh Bharat Abhiyan: Gogoi

| | Apr 09, 2016, at 07:43 pm
Guwahati, Apr 9 (IBNS) A belligerent Tarun Gogoi did not take Prime Minister Narendra Modi's words too kindly about Guwahati being the dirtiest capital in India, as he slammed the centre for not helping the state with funds, thus expressing his anger on Saturday.

The Assam CM, who took strong exception to the PM's remarks about his state's capital, attacked Modi regarding Varanasi and Gandhinagar.

"PM Modi said that Guwahati is one of the dirtiest capitals in the country. The truth is that we're among top 10 capitals of India," he said.

"Gandhinagar & Varanasi are far behind Guwahati. We have done a lot without getting a penny from Swachh Bharat Abhiyan," Gogoi added.
