New Delhi, Apr 5 (IBNS) A man was killed in Delhi on Monday night after being hit by a Mercedes that was allegedly being driven by a teenager, reports said.

Sidharth Sharma, 33, a marketing executive, was crossing a road near his home in north Delhi's Civil Lines area when  he was hit by a Mercedes being driven at a speed of 100 kmph, eyewitnesses were quoted as saying.

Sharma was rushed to hospital, where he died.

The accident spot is very close to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's house.

At least eight people were reportedly in the car at the time of the accident. All the occupants were teenagers.

After running over the man, the car hit a divider on the road as a result of which two of its tyres burst.

The driver and those travelling with him fled the site after the accident, leaving the car behind.

The car (DL 2F CM 3000) belonged to a man identified as Manoj Agarwal, a resident in the same area.

Police say his driver initially told them that he was driving the car at the time of the accident, but during interrogation admitted that he was being forced to own up.

The police is looking for CCTV footage from the area to ascertain the facts.

No arrests have been made in the case so
