New Delhi/IBNS: Two people were killed and several others are feared trapped after a three-storey under-construction building collapsed in Old Delhi's Chawri Bazaar on Thursday morning, media reports said.

One person was reportedly injured in the incident.

Building collapses near Chawri Bazaar Metro Station

The incident was reported at around 9:50 am from Gali Sitara, near the Chawri Bazaar Metro Station.

Six fire units, including water tenders and rescue vehicles, rushed to the spot to carry out rescue and relief operations.

Rescue teams are working to locate and evacuate people who may be trapped under the debris.

Second building collapse in Delhi within days

The incident comes just days after two slabs of a building collapsed in Northeast Delhi, killing two people.

The latest incident has once again raised concerns over building safety in the national capital.
