New Delhi, May 7 (UNI) Delhi High Court on Tuesday quashed an FIR registered against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Somnath Bharti under the provisions of domestic violence.

The court also noted that the woman has no objection if the FIR was quashed.

Somnath Bharti's wife Lipika Mitra had filed a complaint against him on June 10, 2015 to Delhi Commission for Women and an FIR was registered on the basis of her complaint by police on September 9, 2015 for allegedly subjecting her to domestic violence and trying to kill her.

Delhi High Court Justice Chander Shekhar, after hearing the quashing petition filed on behalf of Mitra, allowed to quash the criminal case after noting that Bharti and his wife Lipika Mitra were living happily together and there was no dispute now.
